Hi all,

I have a door and two puzzle holes and pieces. I want the door to open when BOTH pieces have been placed in their holes. How do I do this? I know how to do it for one piece but for two I’m stuck...

Also how do I trigger a door to close?
Plus how do I trigger Lara to look at something (I think it's something to do with the "camera target" null mesh, not sure).

Lara .S. +++

When you set a trigger up on a puzzle and bring up the ocb menu, you will notice that there are numbers (1-5 I think)all should be higlighted. To make it so you need to do 2 things to open a door simply click numbers 1 2 and 3 on the first item and 4 and 5 on the other. Make sure they are both triggered for the doors and this should work.

to make lara look at something place a camera target where you want her to look then trigger it, the entire trigger zone is how long she will look at it, and to make a door close, click 12345 in the OBC then trigger it, that will make it open automatically then when its triggered it closes, or you could just use and anti trigger

Hi Lara,
I just figured this one out, here's how i done it:
Set a trigger for your door on the same square as your 1st puzzle hole.
Set a trigger for the puzzle hole as a key ,on the same square, making sure that when you've assigned the puzzle hole as a key that you select boxes 1 and 2 in the "select trigger type" dialogue box and then hit ok.
Then set another trigger for the door on the same square as the 2nd puzzle hole, set a trigger for this hole as a key as before, but this time select boxes 3,4 and 5, then hit ok again and you should be ok.
As for closing the door all you need to do is select the door then select the square you want to step on to close the door, highlight this square as a trigger ,and where you select the trigger type select antitrigger and this will close the door when you step on it.
Hope this makes sense ,good luck, look forward to your new level when it's finished.

ps..like you site by the way ,keep up the good work.

Do you just want a door to close after lara runs through it? then simply set an anti-trigger for the door on the other side.

You want to close it with a switch?.... trigger the door to open however you want, then put another trigger for the door under a switch with a regular switch trigger... the door will close.

You want the door to only stay open for a set time? enter the appropriate amount in seconds in the timer field for the door trigger. if you are using a key or switch put the number of seconds in the timer field for the corresponding key or switch trigger or you wil get the "cant overlap special triggers" message.

Anything else?

oops, forgot..... to get lara to look, place a camera target where you want her to look, set a trigger zone for the target and then change the "object" field to target in the drop down menu. as long as lara is in the trigger zone she will turn her head in the direction you intend. DO NOT SET A CAMERA

A trigger makes something work.
An antitrigger makes something stop working.

Like a trigger makes a door open, and an anti trigger would freeze the door in a half-open state if it was used just seconda after a trigger was used?
